yankee doodle randy.

today was my second day / last day of work for the week.

i made a proposal for out to host an in-store event with diesel and for the brand to sponsor our outlounge sometime during the summer. i then stumbled across the proposal on the company's network which leads me to believe the event has already happened.

nevertheless, it was fun to be able to research diesel's current campaign and apply to to an event proposal.

it's the weekend and i just sucked down a red velvet cupcake and am currently waiting to find out my schedule at urban outfitters next week.

this weekend we say hello to the last open weekend of the summer and goodbye to freedom as we know it.

-to summer.

tillie's is currently playing a .midi file of coldplay over the sound system. yikes.

our favorite condemned haunt

my favorite car that is always parked on the blocks between our apt. and the subway.

every night before bed i take off all of my clothes, wendy sings andrew lloyd webber, and then we tell secrets. it's like summer camp for idiots.

"ew please don't do this it gives me the squiggles seriously don't"

hey, today i woke up with two gigantic zits on my face. god, it hurts to be beautiful.

yesterday i got a manicure/pedicure special for $20. i then lost my sunglasses in the toilet at bloomingdale's. bummer, dude.

corey and i have embraced brooklyn with open arms. it's so nice to leave the craziness of the city behind and come home to our tree-lined street. surprise, a tree does grow in brooklyn.

tillie's (the coffe shop) sucks so much sometimes.

at work today i sat at a sewing machine and made like thirty owl pillows. they also gave me a set of keys. i love the rise and fall.

I NEED A NEW BATTERY FOR MY COMPUTER! will someone please tell corey to escort me to the 24-hour apple store tonight? thank you.

it's supposed to rain tomorrow, but i still might go to the free animal collective show at the south street seaport. also, nouvelle vague is playing at the guggenheim, but it's $25...so that's a no go.

in other words, my brain is fried.

new job, free internet

I'm currently sitting at my internship for out magazine, thumbing through an advanced copy of out with mika on the cover. or is it wendy on the cover?

furthermore, this photograph is currently making its rounds through the company email so that my coworkers may better aquaint themselves with me.

I've spent the past five hours trying to learn how to use windows OS again. yuck!

but I do love my job!

me tired.

hey, my job is pretty sweet. i screen print things and sew and play with a dog. today i worked on some pillows and samples for the fall collection. however, this was the first day i've had to actually to apply myself in like two weeks, so i'm kind of beat. this was also the first day i left corey to his own devices...

tomorrow i will go to the market. tonight i will probably eat more pizza.

here are some more photos from yesterday's excursion to fabulous coney island:

white fight

today is the first day that wendy and I have spent apart. it is her first day at work while I don't start until tomorrow. so while she is busy screen printing, I am sitting in tillie's [previously connecticut muffin but due to internet troubles I had to relocate, see below].

yesterday night while wendy was fighting for her life outside on the street, I was inspired by my ..inspirational book [what a concept] and took to the roof of 219 clinton ave. it is such a pretty view, sort of, and I will add photos once I remember to take some the next time I ascend the rusty old ladder.

connecticut muffin, as seen from our perspective on the benches.

a toy left on our brownstone stoop.

I leave you with some videos of wendy and I passing the time in 4R sans internet.

"will you dance for me please?"

"i try to be like grace kelllyyyy..."

coney isle.

wendy and i just spent the past day taking in the wonder that is coney island.

we enjoyed a budgeted lunch and attempted to lay out which was cut short due to a plethora of sporty rabble-rousers.

we now sit in a different local haunt that offers free wifi until our verizon at home installation kit arrives [in seven to ten days].

los turistas

as it is memorial day weekend, and as it is FLEET WEEK here in new york city, corey and i took it as our civic duty to participate in all things tourist and hunt down some sailors. our first (and only) stop was TIMES SQUARE, which launched us into sensory overload. from there, we went "nutz 4 nutz" and got drunk at planet hollywood's all-day happy hour. i hate corey sometimes, hah.

here is corey and his best friend, the string bassist, waiting for the train.

on top of the world.

SAILORS!

this was not a baby dinosaur.

best friends!

adventures in bed-stuy!

we're easily spooked.

219 clinton avenue apt. 4R, brooklyn ny 11205

we made it!

life is brooklyn is GREAT. that's a lie. we have no internet, no light in our bathroom, a janky subway line, and a "sofa bed" that doesn't do it's job. anyway, we're getting into the swing of things. yesterday corey and i walked to target where we purchased an air conditioner. we later installed it using nothing but our brute strength and a pair of tweezers.

on the plus side, ft. greene is a cute little neighborhood where we have found our favorite local haunt - CELLARS!
